This is the perfect statement for our life. We want everything that we like but we won't get everything . As life goes on we goes on and when someday when what we want and what we get coincide then we feel happy from heart.
As said above , it is same as cycle of Happiness and Sorrow. We all see this cycle and even realize it but we always concentrate on the sorrow part , the bad part and never see what it brought to us but think what it has taken from us. And more on this we blame God on this , Why to me and not others and all that but did we ever think that it is a necessity in the life to be sad. Since if we are not sad how can we feel when we happy . Just like value of love can be feel by those who have lost someone and not by those who have never loved anyone except themsleves.
This is a cycle and if there is sorrow today then definitely there is happiness tomorrow .
When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us . So whenever we are sad , hurt and feeling low, we should smile and move forward to look for the next door of happiness.

One of the secrets of a happy life is continuous small treats....!!!!
